Once my course ended it was time for me to leave the nest (the nest of my host family's house!) I extended my stay with them for a few days, but left by Tuesday because they had gotten a new student from EIL. Her name is Carina, she is from Germany and will be here for a whole year volunteering in a Kindergarten.

Carina here with the fam! |
The day before I moved out Josh and I were on the ultimate job hunt! We were going all over passing out resumes and meeting with directors of language institutes. Well, I really should have kept my dad's ski slope advice in the back of my mind ("if you're tired get off the slopes, that's when you get hurt!) The very last place we went, it was about 5 pm after we had been out ALL day, I was exhausted, and hungry, and I ended up slipping down the stairs (luckily it was just the last two). We have all been saying what a slippery country this is! Anyway something weird happened to my leg. I got very lucky and it is way less severe than it could be...I was up and walking like normal 36 hrs later, but it is still a bit sore. It essentially feels like the worst shin splints ever! (but as I said, it could be much worse). Josh helped me into a cab and I got home safe and sound, where my host family took amazing care of me. They have been so wonderful and I can tell they really consider me part of the family :) .
